Sometimes the Delay Is Part of the Story

To be honest, I didn’t realise Must Seed and wedding planning would collide quite like this.

Over the past few months, every spare dollar has gone towards one thing: our wedding.

Weddings are expensive. Could we have chosen not to have one? Of course. But it’s also a once-in-a-lifetime day that we’re incredibly grateful to celebrate with the people we love.

So, for now, the clothing samples have to wait.

At first, I was frustrated. Once I finally left my full-time job, I imagined I’d be ordering samples almost immediately. Instead, I found myself choosing between moving Must Seed forward or paying for another wedding invoice.

But after sitting with it for a while, I realised something.

Maybe this isn’t a setback.

Maybe it’s preparation.

The extra time has given me space to think more deeply about every decision, refine every detail, and ask myself whether I’m creating something that will genuinely last - not just something that can be launched quickly.

And honestly, that’s exactly why I started sharing the journey behind Must Seed before I ever had a product to sell.

I never wanted to appear online with a jumper in my hands saying, “Buy this.”

Because why would you?

There are already countless brands making beautiful clothing. Brands with years of experience, loyal customers and proven quality.

If Must Seed was only about clothing, there would be very little reason for someone to choose us over them.

That’s why, to me, the story has always mattered just as much as the product.

Must Seed exists because God changed my heart before He changed my direction.

It’s the story of learning to trust Him. Of slowly discovering purpose. Of building something that reflects the faith that transformed my own life.

The clothing is simply the expression of that story.

My hope is that one day, when someone wears a Must Seed piece, they won’t just think, “This is a nice sweater.”

They’ll remember the journey they watched unfold.

The uncertainty.

The lessons.

The prayers.

The delays.

Because they were there from the beginning.

I’ve always believed that people don’t just support small businesses because of what they sell.

They support them because they believe in the people behind them.

So while waiting until after the wedding wasn’t part of my plan, maybe it was part of God’s.

Maybe this season was never about getting to the finish line as quickly as possible.

Maybe it was about learning that building something meaningful takes patience.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned already, it’s this:

Sometimes the delay isn’t holding the story back.

Sometimes the delay becomes part of the story.
